A Loft Conversion can be an excellent way of gaining another bedroom within your existing space.  There are numerous roof and window extensions that are possible, with and without planning approval.  Even with the smallest loft height a conversion is possible, but it may not be worth the cost and the impact on the lower level in an effort to achieve the loft conversion, therefore we would give you advise based on each individual project.

In most cases Planning Approval won't be necessary for Velux type roof windows unless the property is Listed.  There are allowances for rear and side roof extensions using Permitted Development Rights in a lot of cases but any front extension will require planning approval.
